Allow me to Introduce you to...

"Fit Clash is a social app to help promote healthy living in a fun and easy to play game among friends!"
Fit Clash started as a favour for a friend and quickly became one of my favorite projects. I only had about two weeks to work on this, but I’m always up for a challenge! My friend reached out to me to help them create a visual prototype to show off to the class, the only criteria I had to follow was it had to be a social platform to promote healthy living.

The Idea
Idea #1
I thought of making it a Personal Trainer App where you can recruit friends or members of the community to be your personal trainer! Since working out when you have someone tracking your progress proves to be very successful.
Idea #2
I wanted to find a way to "Gamify" working out. I then started thinking of way to get friends to compete against each other towards the same goal, thus earning different awards! This ultimately became the idea I ran with.

"Writing down notes helps me pinpoint how users will interact with the app. Once I had an idea for the general flow of the app, this helped create wire frames for some of the pages."

Feedback
Throughout the course of the project, I liked to check in with the group and show some of my progress to make sure I was still on the right track and see if they had any ideas new to implement! Like they are the ones that came up with the “Wheel of Fortune” idea, which is now a big part of Fit Clash!
The Tone
After receiving thumbs up from the group I pressed on to find the overall tone of the project! I knew I wanted something more upbeat and inviting, so I started with playing around with color pallets and typography. I wanted The app to feel welcoming and fun, and I think I got it with this pallet…

"I knew I wanted the color blue and different shades.. But I needed something to really help the app POP! I wanted to add the complete opposite color as a rival to the blue, this shade of red really set the tone of the app and helped me visualize the competitive aspect of the app! The two colors “Clashing” sparked that light bulb of mine…"
The Identity
We all agreed to the name FIT CLASH almost right away, this name felt super right for what we we’re going for (a game to compete against your friends to promote a healthier lifestyle) and it rolls of the tongue nicely!
The logo on the other hand took a bit more work to pin point a good one!

From this to this..
"While sketching out ideas for a logo, I ran into a bit of a of a wall! I did not know where to go… I had a couple of ideas before the pill shape like: The cartoon fight cloud, or the boxing gloves clashing. While looking around my room I noticed my multicolored Nintendo Switch which sparked the Red vs Blue look!"

"The Switch became a heavy inspiration for the logo, I knew I wanted the colors to CLASH! But how? I then created a couple variations of the logo and held it to a vote on Twitter and Reddit, I wanted to know what the general public liked more knowing it was a social fitness game."
Consulting
Personally I really liked #3 (view "Panel 2.3".) the most, until my group pointed out it looked too Pharmaceutical which is not what Fit Clash was about.. The nice thing about #2 is it looks like both pieces are trying to outdo one another to get to the top. Now looking back at it I’m glad they helped me see the error in my ways, because I love our logo now.

Hi-Fi!
Now that Fit Clash had an Identity it was time to flesh out these wireframes and really bring it to life! I went with a more simplistic look for most of these screens, I’m a big fan of minimal design when it comes to most of my work. If I had more time to work on the project I would of loved to give these screens more personality. Making my own icons and using my own photography would of went a long way!
"I only had time to make a handful of screens to help my friend show off the product to her class. She was going to take care of filling in the "Lorem Ipsum" with helpful introductory messages to help guide the user into Fit Clash!"
Working on Fit Clash was an incredible experience for me because it gave me the chance to work closer with a team under a more strict criteria to follow! I learned a lot in those 2 short weeks, like how my first idea isn’t always the best idea and having a group to work with will spark ideas you maybe would of never thought of!
